As an infant his mother Jackie, a soprano who has toured internationally with the Cabrillo Choir, shared her love of folk, rock and Motown with him, having to constantly sing to him to stop him from crying. Because of his mother’s influence, along with his father Rob’s passion for country music, R&B and soul, Casey began singing, performing and acting in local theater and television commercials at age 7. At 10 his mom taught him how to play his first chords on the guitar. He joined his first band at 12 and was a founding member of Santa Cruz punk band No More Heroes performing at local bars & clubs, and touring the west coast. After graduating with a degree in Film & Theatre Arts from UC Santa Cruz in 2001, Casey moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career as a musician & audio engineer. Having studied recording & sound design in college, he began interning & later assisting Mystic Records founder & Producer Philip “Philco” Raves, performing sound design for film/television at Tri-Coast Studio’s and also recording bands for Philco’s Split Se7en Records. In Los Angeles he met German producer/singer/guitarist Ralf Dietel with whom he founded the band Feuer in 2002. Feuer went on hiatus in 2004 while Dietel toured as guitarist for Nine Inch Nails. When Dietel returned in early 2005, he and Casey founded the band Suicide Holiday. Suicide Holiday toured the West coast & Southwest. Dietel & Casey also worked together recording & producing other bands and artists. Casey married his High School sweetheart Crystal in June 2006 and the two returned to live in Santa Cruz that summer. Shortly after moving back to the 831, Casey decided on a whim to enter KMBY/ X103.9’s “Search for the Next Radio Star” contest. His experiences as a musician & producer, as well as his theater training, paid off and he put those skills to good use, becoming Kaizer on X103.9 in August of 2006. In 2007-2008, Casey co-produced and co-hosted the Travel Channel television pilot “Road to Rhythm” for Standing Bear Productions.
